*The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and the National Association of State Utility Consumer Advocates (NASUCA) are promoters of the CCIF 9th Annual Kickoff Forum.
Topic Description. Changes are occurring that will continue to impact the way that electricity is produced, delivered, used, and managed both by electric companies and customers in the future. The electric power sector, and its many stakeholders, must prepare now to tackle the challenges that will be presented by an ever-evolving energy mix, a changing climate, and extreme weather events. As part of this process, regulators, consumer advocates, and electric companies will discuss how best to identify needs and plan for a more resilient energy future. What types of investments are needed to ensure the continued provision of safe, affordable, reliable, and increasingly clean and resilient energy for customers, and how should those investments be planned, coordinated, and ultimately recovered?
